About Clariloops
Clariloops is the project of Australian neo-classical/electronic artist Ruby Lulham
Clariloops combines the organic sound of the clarinet with electronics and synthesised sound. The project started as a way of bringing stillness and creativity into Ruby's classical music practice. The resulting sounds are rhythmic and calming, unique yet familiar, existing between genres.
Clariloops' releases to date include 'Mindful Movement' (2020), 'Sun//Rain' (2021) and most recently 'Micro Macro' (2022). All self-released bodies fo work, the music aims to provide accompaniment to people's movements and thoughts without intrusion. 'Sun//Rain' has been featured in Bandcamp's New and Notable, played on radio stations including KEXP Seattle, and has gained over 20,000 plays on Spotify.
Clariloops is influenced by a range of sounds: neoclassical artists such as Ólafur Arnalds, Max Richter and Brian Eno, 20th century composers such as Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, and diverse sounds of music she loves, from instrumental hip hop and electronica to indie pop and rock.
"CLARILOOPS (she/her) is the project of Ruby Lulham and, on the one hand, it is what it says on the tin: looped clarinet, supported by synthesis and emboldened by electronic production. Ruby's work blurs the traditional with the modern, and she lists both Claude Debussy and Boards of Canada as key influences. Live, Clariloops creates waves of undulating cascading sounds, with rhythmic but calming results."

'Micro Macro'
A new EP by Clariloops
“All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today”
Micro Macro is about the Micro - the ripple effect, the small individual contributions, the grains of sand that make up the Macro - the past, the future, the big picture. Every track is built upon an improvisation on the Organelle synthesiser and Hologram Electronics Microcosm effects pedal.
The electronics are the fabric and the clarinet is the thread.
Recorded and produced in her home, Ruby has created another mindful release to accompany you and your thoughts as you go about your day.

Music by Clariloops
This album takes the listener on a journey. Inspired by the weather in Melbourne over summer, the music depicts those sunny days that become muggy, humid, full of tension, and end with big fat raindrops bouncing off warm concrete.
Diving into the world of synthesised sound, the Clariloops project has expanded over the past few months to explore how the organic sound of the clarinet can work with electronic production. Recorded and produced in her home, Ruby has created another mindful release to accompany you and your thoughts as you go about your day.
