Beat Battle for Better

2023

Beat Battle for Better an online beat making competition that is helping to support a great cause. We’re raising funds for Homie, a social enterprise that empowers young people experiencing homelessness or hardship in Melbourne.

In January 2023, a group of musicians got together to record our sample pack which was used by producers all over the world to create incredible pieces of music. Out of 42 submissions, our judges chose their favourite 20 tracks to be featured on Beat Tape for Better Volume 1.

All proceeds from Beat Tape for Better Volume 1 go directly to helping HoMie in their mission!

Beat Battle for Better ran for 25 days in March. In that time we had 98 people download our sample pack, and 42 submissions from 9 different countries!

The Sample Pack

So why HoMie?

1 in 200 Australians are experiencing homelessness and 38% of these people are under the age of 25. This number has risen 43% in the last decade.

100% of HoMie’s profits go to changing this.

HoMie is an incredible social enterprise that works directly with young people experiencing homelessness or hardship. They provide these young people with confidence, skills and a community to thrive in. BB4B is inspired by the deep, lasting impact that HoMie has on young people in need and we couldn’t think of anyone better to support. We’re aiming to support one of HoMie’s VIP Days where these young people are invited to feel like a VIP for the day, getting new clothes, a fresh haircut, hygiene products and a community to connect with. Through the VIP Days, young people are introduced to HoMie’s most important program, the Pathways Alliance, through which young people participate in an 8-month paid retail internship at the HoMie Store or a HoMie Pathway Alliance trained business.
